The following reviews are from campgrounds, RV resorts and truck stops that we have visited during our travels. They will be listed in no particular order, yet will be listed with the nearest city first for those interested in stopping.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Little Rock North KOA - I will be quite frank, this is not only the worst KOA but the worst campground we have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Their staff consisted of the crankiest people I have ever encountered.

The campground and restrooms were clean, but the laundry was not. It appears that many people live year-round in this KOA and the laundry is their hangout.

We had problems with the Cable TV and the staff member that came to look at it told me flat to my face our TVs didn’t work. I asked how he knew that and he said he hooked up a TV to our outside cable. I asked him when he did this, as it was only reported 10 minutes prior and we were standing outside the entire time. He didn’t say anything, just left grumbling.

There were lights over every utility box and every-other site had them broken. Apparently they had no means or anyone skilled enough to repair them. The pull-thru section was empty, except for one camper. Naturally, they put us right on top of the other camper (who had several slides as well).

I do not recommend this campground unless it undergoes repair, new staffing AND new management.

I-30 Travel Park

Benton, I-30 Travel Park - We had the misfortune of traveling this region when the entire state was under a tornado warning. The rain was coming down so hard that we had pulled over several times and when it did let up, the winds came and we found ourselves pulling over again.

This travel park was a wonderful shelter in the storm! They were closing for the afternoon and the gentleman was kind enough to see us pull in and open up. It was a very low overnight fee for a level, Big Rig site!

A great place to overnight and not too far away from groceries and major attractions.

Texarkana, Flying J- This Flying J is located off of I-30 (exit 7) in Arkansas. This is not a good overnight stop at all! Their parking is limited and even if you can get in, chances are a six foot pot hole will do major damage to your rig. And the noise – oh the noise!

The next morning, we found out that there was a campground located down the road that did not appear in our directories. So if you are traveling this area, keep that in mind.
