The following reviews are from campgrounds, RV resorts and truck stops that we have visited during our travels. They will be listed in no particular order, yet will be listed with the nearest city first for those interested in stopping.

HARRISBURG, East Harrisburg Campground & Storage – This campground is located off Eisenhower Blvd. You can find it quickly from I-81 (exit 70), then I-83 (south, exit 47). After exiting #47 go 3 lights on Eisenhower Blvd. and proceed half a mile. You will see the campground’s sign on the left side (also a pizza place on the corner).

For being an “in-town” campground, this is really a nice park. They have no cable but we had all the basic networks on digital antenna and they had great WiFi (Tengo) for free. The laundry was clean and had larger washers.

The campsites are easy to pull into and the one we had was level without trying – always a plus! They also allow you to wash your rig, but you must pay the $10 fee in advance.

CARLISLE, Western Village RV Park - This campground off I-81 (exit 45) and is actually several miles off the highway in a residential area. We actually missed the sign and found ourselves having to turn around in farm country in an area with a wide enough intersection. So if you go to this one, watch for the sign.

This park is not for Big Rigs. We had a nightmare getting in our site with all the trees. They have no cable and no sewer. Now most sites do have sewer, but the sites for bigger rigs don’t! This has to be one of the most expensive campgrounds we have stopped at without cable and sewer. They do have free WiFi, but it was rather slow.

They have other amenities, but it appears this is more of a resident and seasonal campground.
