PHOTOS OF OUR JOURNEY… They are categorized by state (the left sidebar of THE MODERN NOMAD’s Home Page under the “Photos” link) and I will continute to include a variety ~ especially those hidden sights you won’t see from the highway. This is a work-in-progress for me as I have numerous photos! Please understand that these our my personal photos. If you want to use an image, please contact me at nomad.modern.the@gmail.com and let me know where you intend to use it so that I can give you permission to use it. Here is one of my current favorites of our home-on-wheels.

At home in the Olympic Peninsula during winter!
At home in the Olympic Peninsula during winter!

Anyone can visit the Olympic Peninsula during the summer – but the winter?! Our fifth-wheel is insulated for colder climates, plus we took many precautions to prepare our rig for our extended-stay.

Olympic National Park is breathtaking in the winter time, especially Hurricane Ridge. If you haven’t visited this amazing park located in Western Washington, then you definately need to add it to your Places to Visit list.

We hiked Sol Duc Falls and Marymere Falls in near-freezing temperatures. It was exhilarating! There is nothing to make a body feel more alive than hiking in an old growth forest, in the early morning hours in the cold.

This area will soon have more popularity with the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics in British Columbia (across the Strait of Juan de Fuca) and the TWILIGHT movie (fictional vampire books that take place in Port Angeles, Forks and La Push).
