Alaska – WOW! Where can you even begin to describe it? I have only been to a small region of the state and was awe-struck with what I saw. To this day I still get some of those images (and sounds) out of my mind. My first trip there I was fortunate enough to take the train from Anchorage to Seward. The photo above is actually taken from the train. It was a long day but well worth the trip. I saw animals I’d never seen outside a zoo or on a TV nature program. I saw porcupines in trees!!! Yes! And the were huge! ;) After arriving in Seward I went on a glacier cruise. Of course, I saw many more critters, like those in the photo below.

The glacier cruise was as amazing as it sounds. To feel (rain droplets) and hear (groaning) the glacier up-close was an added treat. I was always under the impression is was something neat to look at and that was that!

After the cruise trip I got back on the train. Another incredible ride! The photo below is actually showing how high the snow was along part of the tracks.

Hmm… so many things to see and do, esp. around Anchorage! From the museum and trolley tour to having the best seafood meal ever. ;) Another trip I visited Juneau and saw “the big” glacier and the surrounding area… But that’s all for another day!
