Digging for diamonds!

- Historic Washington State Park
Well, I started going through my Arkansas photos only to release that pretty much all of them are taken with a dreary sky or from rain-splattered windows!
In fact, the last time we travelled Arkansas, the entire state was under storm warnings and we found ourselves searching for a RV park to weather the storms.
And… not to mention a blown tire in Texarkana…
But, other than that… there is a lot to see and do in Arkansas when it’s not storming or you’re searching for a tire dealer!
One of those things is to visit Crater of Diamonds State Park. Yes, diamonds! You can actually keep whatever you find in the diamond fields. See additional photos and information on this under the “Arkansas” photo section labelled “Crater of Diamonds State Park”.
Another great stop is the Historic Washington State Park. This park offers around 30 historic buildings and is a great way to view a variety of architectual styles from the mid-1800 to mid-1900s. This park is only a short drive from I-30 in Hope and actually on the way to Crater of Diamonds.
Of course, there are more things to see and do… just don’t always plan your visit around storm-season like we do!
