After several attempts, we finally managed a trip to see Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. We went early to see the horses (photos) that would be performing in the show, as well as a chance to see the pre-show. The pre-show included an incredible juggling act that left us crying with laughter. We were then seated in a huge arena and were given a four-course meal (which you must eat with your fingers) while watching a live show. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take photos inside the Dixie Stampede. The show was entertaining and included a variety of acts – from singing and dancing to lumberjack competition and ostrich races. The show is appropriate for all ages, but if you have a hard time with stairs or trouble breathing (ie. asthma or animal allergies) you need to let the reservationist know. You can see the horses (free) daily along the walkway before showtimes.
