The Bay Education Center located in Rockport (TX) is a free visitor center that focuses on the local estuaries and how important they are to ecology. The center also features Science on a Sphere, which is a NOAA created program that shows Earth science presentations in a unique way. Great hands-on for smaller children. Parking area is conveniently located by the beach and near entrance to Rockport Beach (pay beach). Also a short walk to the Rockport Aquarium (free) and the Texas Maritime Museum (admission fee). The center is only open Tuesday – Saturday.
